Charity Day

After a fortnight studying the weather forecast for Charity Day October 4th, we made alternative plans for indoor activities as it looked very unlikely, we would be able to play bowls. On the day it's self it wasn't too bad, and we were lucky and got all the bowling in.

The teams were changed once or twice and in some cases three times but in the end, we played three games, two presidents' challenges and a spider.

The team scoring highest was Judi (captain), Les R and Peter (scorer) but the scores for the top three teams were very close.

Andrea from Katharine House joined us for a tea of pulled chicken and pork with salads and rice followed by nine choices of pudding.

Andrea was visibly emotional when she was presented with the cheque for £1083.00, she then gave us a short talk on how Katharine House was established and the day-to-day costings and organisation.

Mike then thanked everyone involved on behalf of David who was unfortunately unwell and couldn't attend.
